About the data

Rankings on this site are editorial lists ordered by our judgment, weighing payout speed, drawdown fairness, true cost (price + activation + reset fees), and rule transparency. The numbers shown beside each firm — prices and rules — come from the same dataset as the comparison table: currently 15 firms and 172 plans, each field carrying its own verification date.

Ranking position is never sold. A firm's affiliate relationship (or lack of one) does not change its position.

Alongside the editorial rankings, every firm carries a PropFirm Deck Score from 0 to 100 — a single number computed entirely from the data we verify, so two firms are weighed on the same yardstick. It is a weighted blend of six inputs: Payouts 25%, Drawdown fairness 20%, True cost 20%, Rule friction 15%, Profit split 10%, and Track record 10%.

One rule overrides the arithmetic: a firm under an active advisory is capped at 25. A firm we are warning users away from cannot climb the score on cheap pricing and loose rules alone — the cap keeps the number honest.

A milder flag exists below the advisory: the payout-dispute watch. When a credible public payout dispute is open but not yet verified — one we are actively tracking — the firm's page says so and its score is docked a flat 5 points until the dispute resolves. Resolution either clears the watch (points restored) or escalates it to an advisory (score capped at 25).

In the interest of full disclosure: the rule-friction input currently reads the evaluation-stage consistency requirement, and will broaden as we verify more rule fields.
